Sailing

Raised in Santa Cruz, California, sailing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s my father who got the sailing bug when he first moved to the San Francisco Bay Area as a young adult and learned to sail. Our first family boat was a Santana 22. It was a good all-around boat for the San Francisco Bay. I cruised and raced with my father on many kinds of boats over the years, probably most notably a Santa Cruz 27.

That being said, sailing was never a personal passion of mine until 2019 when I purchased and restored my first boat. Since then, I have sailed as much as time allows, on everything from lasers to J/70s. These blog posts document my major sailing projects: an Arkekno H-boat “Grace” from 2019–2025 and a Beneteau First 36.7 “Pirouette” from 2025 to the present.
